I have been on the hunt for some modern, simple, fall inspiration for a couple of months and the other day while reading over here, i was introduced to totakaelo. It is perfection. The simple silhouettes and warm neutrals combined with gorgeous metal jewelry and all types of boots and oxfords. I think I could pull style inspiration from this site through the fall and winter.

2. holding a conversation while reading a book. while knitting.
   
3. making yard tea.
4. making vegan yumminess.
5. looking exactly the same in every picture for 27 years. this is also kind of creepy.

Though I have been dressing pretty casual and comfy in moccasins and sweaters lately, I am loving these shots of model Irina Lazereanu in the October Marie Claire issue. If I was in a sweet ass rock band this is what I'd be wearing.

southern wedding magazine

I picked up a copy of Southern Wedding Magazine today and was completely blown away. The feel and aesthetic of this magazine is consistent all the way through and is nothing like the Bride magazines that I can't quite force myself to look at. This little gem has great d.i.y. projects, awesome creative vendor ideas and such a fresh modern style. And I am beyond super excited because the cover story was shot by our wedding photographers- Joey and Jessica. Have I mentioned on here how I can't wait to work with them and see how they capture our day? They are so talented- and this was all shot on film people!
Wedding planning can be incredibly daunting. I have struggled in my head with how to make a day that is unique and reflective of us as a couple and pays tribute to all the people who love us, while trying to keep it as simple and homemade as possible. Even thinking about caterers and florists makes me antsy. So I am happy to see this fresh perspective on weddings and it has given me some new energy for going ahead with our plans.
Oh, and I ordered my wedding dress this weekend :)

six months

Exactly six months from today I get to marry the man that makes me laugh the hardest and feel more love than seems possible. I can't wait mister!

Sometime it takes a sick day to start to feel really good. Today I am home and feeling really lucky and thankful. Thankful for love and friends and family and campfires and bike rides and gardens that decide to finally start growing in the wrong season and pumpkin pie spice in my coffee. It has really been a glorious few days with some lovely people- you know who you are.

I have never been fully satisfied with the decor of our bedroom. I have redecorated (on an extremely small budget) but just can't seem to get it right. But these staged bedrooms for Bella Notte linens got it just right. I am almost tempted to paint my walls the deepest charcoal gray and add a mustard chair.
